Yvonne E. Bakker

Yvonne is experienced, educated, and committed to ensuring a high-quality of life for all of her cherished clients. She has passed the rigorous background checks you would expect. Your Caring Companion is a licensed business.

Hailing from The Netherlands, Yvonne's family immigrated to Canada in the 60's, landing in Northern Ontario. Later, having moved to British Columbia, Yvonne settled down and raised two lovely children of her own - a daughter and a son.

Crediting her parents with raising her with old fashioned values, Yvonne naturally gravitated to being part of a senior care team.

Yvonne began specializing in companionship in 1990 and has been very passionate about providing excellent compassionate and consistent care ever since.

"I love being able to care for seniors and respecting their need to stay as independent as possible. I believe this supports their vitality and provides much needed dignity and feelings of accomplishment. If they are not able, I pride myself in finding out what activities bring them enjoyment in the present time.

Of course, it is always helpful to know from families what interests their loved ones enjoyed in the past and to continue that, in any way possible."

Yvonne has spent time volunteering at special places such as: Senior Services Society, Edmond's Community Centre, Harmony Court Assistant Living side, as well as the Care Centre side. In the recent past, Yvonne was volunteering at the George Derby Centre where she could be found doing any number of activities with, and for, seniors.
